Nurse FAQs

Being a traveling nurse professional

1. Am I cut out to be a traveling nurse professional?
We are looking for travelers who are caring, flexible, adaptable, competent and adventurous, and most of all, with a heart for patients.

2. Is there a fee for Attentive Healthcare placement services?
No, never.

3. What kind of professional experience do applicants need?
The requirements vary depending on the profession. With most professions we require one year of experience in your specialty. A valid professional license and good references are also necessary.

4. Where do you place nurses?
Our assignments are located in all 50 states, as well as in all types of facilities, ranging from large teaching hospitals to small rural hospitals. We also have assignments in nursing homes, home care and private duty cases. We can almost always place you where you want to go. However, if we don't have your specific position in the location of your choice, we'll contact facilities in that area to present your credentials and search for an available assignment.

5. Do I have to accept an assignment if I send in an application?
Absolutely not. Your application is simply used to qualify you for travel so that we'll be ready to match you with an assignment if and when you decide you're ready to go. Once you register, there will always be an exciting assignment waiting for you!

6. What happens after I send in an application?
As soon as we receive your application, one of our recruiters, all of whom have been traveling nurses themselves, will contact you to get started. We will interview you to assess your skills and ascertain your needs. Then, our staff will search for a perfect assignment and facility to meet your needs. We will guide you on your new adventure-and be there for you every step of the way.
